I was born and raised in Zambia and currently studying at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. I come from a family of eight. I receive inspiring support from family, Watchmen team, Andrews University, Watchmen family and without doubt - God. In 1992 Les Brown once said that, “Life is a journey, often difficult and sometimes incredibly cruel, but we are well equipped for it if only we tap into our talents and gifts and allow them to blossom”. This quote resonates with me because a few years ago while I was studying at Solusi University in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. I received the Home Health Educational Services Scholarship which financially aided my studies. In my sophomore year, due to circumstances beyond my control I lost the scholarship and was forced to drop out of school. I grew up in Ghana, West Africa where I’m a part of an extended family of six children. Most recently my family has grown as I have married Louisa Boakye and together we reside in South Bend, Indiana. I am currently qualified as an Medication Aide which has enabled me to help persons living in assisted living facilities. One of my ultimate dreams is to become a full time musician, so that I can spread the good news of love and hope while inspiring others to do the same. Today I want to thank God for providing my wife (i.e. my biggest supporter), my family and watchmen. Having nurtured a love for singing from a very early age, it became a struggle when I wasn’t able to use the gift of singing for some five years (i.e. due to the undertaking of time-consuming jobs and other added responsibilities). I come from a family of six (i.e. my two parents, two younger sisters and a younger brother). I grew up in Nigeria, West Africa. My dream is to become an excellent physical therapist. To help in this endeavor I enrolled in the Physical Therapy program at Andrews University. The struggles I’ve had to overcome have been related to school. Being able to blend into a new environment, interact with new persons and meet new standards has been challenging. Furthermore, as an international student acquiring financial assistance can be difficult but one thing I would say is that through my experience with God, he has always provided a way for me to continue pursuing my dream. I grew up on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya within a nuclear family of six (i.e. my two parents, my sister and her husband and my nephew). My dream is to become a global musician, who will write, record and tour the world. One of the main reasons why I chose to study music abroad is because within many of the African countries, pursuing a career in music is not highly valued. Hence, there are not many well developed facilities to nurture the talent of music. To study at Andrews University and be a part of the Watchmen means the world to me, as it has given me the opportunity to explore my musical talents. I was born in Marovoay, La Ville Majunga (city of flowers) found on the West Coast of Madagascar. I grew up in a Christian family with Mum, Dad and my young brother. I am a graduate student at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI and I live in this town. My biggest supporters are my family and I believe that God is my rock, my support and everything. I dream of building a youth center for the young people in Madagascar, to provide an opportunity for them to develop their intellectual, physical and spiritual aspects of life. I strongly believe that I am a medium God uses to serve and save people in my community and those within my close proximity. My family enjoys a life rich in many ways despite the monetary constraints. Madagascar is known as one of the poorest countries in the world. This reality posed a challenge for me to come to study at Andrews University. My family and I strongly believe that where there’s a will there’s a way and God always makes a way. This difficulty grew my belief in God and I was able to come to study in the US.
